Types of Contributions

All submissions must be rigorous, well-founded, and original. Works that have been previously published or are simultaneously under review by another journal will not be accepted.

Peer-Reviewed Articles

a) Original research articles. Reports of results obtained from scientific research, either theoretical or experimental, that represent a novel contribution to knowledge in any of the journal's areas of interest. These must clearly describe the research question, methodology, data analysis (including statistical methods, where appropriate), and a comparative discussion with current literature.

b) Review articles. Papers that comprehensively and systematically analyze the existing academic production on a specific topic within CISAI's scope. These contributions must identify trends, advances, gaps, or contradictions in the literature and propose future research directions.

c) Brief communications. Concise manuscripts reporting relevant, innovative, or urgent findings, even if preliminary. Maximum length is four journal pages (approx. 4,000 words). Justification for publication must be clearly provided for editorial evaluation.

Non-Peer-Reviewed Works

a) Scientific notes. Short descriptions of observations, methods, partial advances, or news of scientific relevance. Must present clear and relevant results for the community, even if part of ongoing work. Maximum length is five pages (approx. 5,000 words) and the abstract must not exceed 100 words.

b) Letters to the editor. Comments, replies, or clarifications related to articles recently published in CISAI. Before publication, the right of reply will be ensured for the referenced authors, who will have up to one month to respond with a text of similar length.

c) Editorials. Texts written by the editorial team or invited authors, focused on academic reflections, methodological advances, or relevant debates within the journal's thematic areas.

Exclusion Criteria

Manuscripts lacking a solid theoretical foundation, incomplete research, narrative or anecdotal texts, book reviews, poorly written articles, or works outside the journal’s areas of interest will not be accepted.

Ethical Code

CISAI adheres to the good practices and principles established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), which govern the conduct of editors, reviewers, and authors in the editorial process. More information at publicationethics.org.

Indexing and Visibility

The journal maintains an ongoing application process to national and international academic databases, directories, and repositories to increase its visibility and impact in the scientific community.

Publication Frequency

CISAI publishes two issues per year (January–June and July–December), with publication dates on the 15th of January and July.

Access and Costs Policy

Submission, processing, and publication of articles in CISAI is completely free of charge.

Peer Review Process

Manuscripts are evaluated through a double-blind process, ensuring confidentiality for both authors and reviewers. Each submission is assigned to specialized reviewers selected from a pool of national and international experts.

Reviewers assess originality, relevance of theoretical frameworks, methodological soundness, and the significance of the results. Based on the reports, the editor will decide whether the manuscript is:

  • Accepted
  • Accepted with revisions (resubmission for second review)
  • Rejected

The estimated time to complete the review process is six weeks. Authors will have two weeks to submit the revised version if changes are requested. Once approved, the manuscript enters the editing phase (copyediting, layout, and metadata tagging) and will then be published. Authors will have three business days to approve the final version.

Certification

Publication certificates will be issued only to authors who expressly request them.
